Maca or black maca: what is the difference?

It is the same root from the Andes (Lepidium meyenii), just in a different colour. We have both as organic powder and as 500 mg capsules, such as maca powder and black maca powder. Choose one of the two; the difference in colour and taste is explained in black maca vs yellow maca.

Shilajit resin or capsules?

Resin is the pure, sticky form: once or twice a day you dissolve a pea-sized amount (about 100 mg) in warm, not boiling water, tea or milk. Capsules contain 500 mg extract with 5% or 50% fulvic acid and are easier if you do not want to measure anything. More in how to take shilajit resin.

Ginseng, tribulus and ashwagandha KSM-66: how do you take them?

All three are capsules you take with water, preferably during or just after a meal. According to the product pages:

Can you combine them?

Yes. Choose one form of maca and of shilajit, start with one product at a time and stick to the daily dose on the pack for each product.

Who should not use them?

According to the product pages, ginseng and tribulus are not intended for children and adolescents under 18. Rhodiola rosea is for adults only, is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding and should not be used for more than three months in a row. Ginseng can affect the action of blood thinners and diabetes medication. Do not use ashwagandha if you have or have had a liver condition. Do you take medication or have a medical condition? Talk to your doctor or pharmacist first.

Frequently asked questions about Supplements for men

Which supplements are right for men?

It depends on what you’re looking for. This collection includes products for energy and endurance (maca, ginseng, tribulus), focus, stress, and exertion (shilajit, ashwagandha KSM-66, rhodiola), as well as cordyceps. You can read the claim for each product above. If you’re unsure, start with one product.

What is the difference between regular and black maca?

They are two color varieties of the same tuber from the Andes. Both are organic and available as powder and capsules. Choose one.

Can I combine multiple products?

Yes. Choose one form of maca and shilajit, and start with one product at a time. Follow the daily dosage on the packaging for each product.

When should you take maca?

With a meal, for example at breakfast in a shake or smoothie. For the capsules, the label recommends taking them during or just after a meal. Stick to the dose on the pack: maca capsules 3 to 4 a day, black maca capsules 3 to 6 a day, maca powder 3 grams once or twice a day and black maca powder 2 to 5 grams a day.

How much shilajit should you take per day?

That depends on the form. Of the resin, you take a pea-sized amount (about 100 mg) once or twice a day, dissolved in a warm drink. Of the capsules with 5% fulvic acid, you take 2 capsules once or twice a day, and of the capsules with 50% fulvic acid 1 capsule a day. Do not exceed the daily dose on the pack.

I take medication or have a medical condition. Can I use these products?

Please consult your doctor or pharmacist before you start. This also applies if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
