Biotin, turmeric or maca: what is the difference?
They are three very different products. The claim that applies to each one is shown above.
- Biotin is vitamin B8 (also called B7): 10,000 mcg per capsule, 1 a day. More in biotin (vitamin B7).
- Turmeric is the yellow root from the ginger family: 600 mg organic turmeric with black pepper, or an extract with 95% curcuminoids and piperine. See turmeric vs curcumin.
- Maca is a root from the Andes, as organic powder and capsules. More in maca: colours and what to look for.
Powder, capsules or tablets?
That depends on your routine. You stir ashwagandha powder and maca powder into a smoothie or yoghurt; for Daily Greens you mix 1 scoop (8 grams) with 200 to 250 ml water. Capsules and tablets are taken with water. If you combine, watch out for overlap: Daily Greens already contains spirulina and chlorella, the Matcha Blend already contains maca. Choose one form of ashwagandha, maca and turmeric.
Can you use them during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Always talk to your doctor or midwife first. According to the product pages, ashwagandha powder, curcumin 95% and the Functional Matcha Blend (naturally contains caffeine) are not suitable or not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. For the other products, consult your doctor before use. Valerian is not intended for children and young people under 18, may affect your ability to drive and to operate machinery, and should not be combined with alcohol or with sedatives or sleep-inducing products.
Castor oil: skin care, not a supplement
Castor oil is organic, cold-pressed oil for external use on skin and hair, so not a supplement and without health claims. See how to use castor oil.
