More about Shilajit

Looking to buy shilajit? At GOYU you'll find shilajit in three forms: pure shilajit resin and two kinds of shilajit capsules with extract, standardised to 5% or 50% fulvic acid. Shilajit is a dark, resin-like substance that seeps from rock crevices in high mountains such as the Himalayas in summer. It forms over centuries from plant remains between the rocks.

Shilajit resin, capsules or extract?

  • Shilajit resin: shilajit resin from the Himalayas, without additives. The traditional form. With the included spoon you measure a pea-sized portion (about 100 mg) and dissolve it in a warm drink. 50 gram jar.
  • Shilajit capsules 5%: 500 mg shilajit extract per capsule, standardised to 5% fulvic acid, in a plant-based HPMC capsule. 60 capsules per jar.
  • Shilajit extract capsules 50%: also 500 mg extract per capsule, but standardised to 50% fulvic acid. 60 capsules per jar.

Fulvic acid is one of the substances naturally present in shilajit. The percentage tells you how much of it is in the extract.

Which shilajit suits you?

Which shilajit supplement you choose mostly depends on how you want to use it. Like a fixed ritual? Then the resin is the most fun: dissolve a little in tea or warm milk. A jar also lasts a long time. Don't want to bother with spoons and warm drinks? Choose capsules. Looking for the highest fulvic acid content in one capsule a day? Take the 50% extract. Of the 5% capsules you take 2 to 4 a day.

How do you use shilajit?

Stick to the dose on the pack. Resin: a pea-sized portion once or twice a day, dissolved in warm (not boiling) water, tea or milk. Capsules 5%: 2 capsules once or twice a day. Capsules 50%: 1 capsule a day with water. Preferably take shilajit with or just after a meal. Tip for the resin: if it's stiff, let the spoon sit in warm water for a moment and it scoops more easily. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding or take medication, check with your GP first.

Origin and quality

All our shilajit comes from the Himalayas, its traditional origin. In Ayurveda, the traditional Indian system, shilajit has been used for thousands of years. The resin is shilajit only; the capsules contain only extract and the capsule shell, without fillers or artificial additives. All three are independently tested for quality and purity. More herbs and superfoods are in our herbs and superfoods.

Food supplements are not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Stick to the daily dose on the pack.
