What is shilajit?

Shilajit is a dark, resin-like substance that seeps from rock crevices in summer in high mountain ranges. It forms over centuries through the breakdown of plant remains between the rocks. In Ayurveda, the traditional Indian system, shilajit has been used for thousands of years. After collection, the raw shilajit is purified into a glossy, sticky resin.

Frequently asked questions about shilajit resin

Why is the resin sometimes hard and sometimes soft?
Shilajit reacts to temperature: in the cold the resin becomes hard, in the warmth soft and sticky. That is normal. If it is too hard, warm the jar in your hand for a moment.

What does shilajit taste like?
Earthy, smoky and bitter. In tea with a little honey, the taste is less noticeable.

Dosage & use

Recommended use: Use the spoon provided to measure out a pea-sized amount (about 100 mg). Dissolve it in warm (not boiling) water, tea or milk. Take 1 to 2 times a day, preferably during or just after a meal.
