What is chaga?
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus), known in Dutch as berkenweerschijnzwam, is a fungus that grows on birch trees in cold regions as a black, cracked mass. Inside, chaga is orange-brown. Chaga has a mild, earthy flavor with a subtle hint of vanilla.
Which chaga is right for you?
The main difference is convenience and concentration. You mix the powder into a drink yourself. Take capsules with water, without any taste. The extract is concentrated, so you need less per day.

How do you use chaga powder?
Stir 2-3 scoops (approximately 2-3 g) per day into warm water, coffee, or a smoothie, preferably during or just after a meal. Stay within the daily dosage stated on the packaging.
What does chaga taste like?
Chaga has a mild, earthy taste with a slight vanilla-like undertone, and it darkens your drink. If you don’t want to taste anything, choose capsules.
What is the difference between chaga extract and chaga powder?
Chaga powder and the 500 mg capsules contain ground chaga in its natural form. For the extract, chaga is extracted and evaporated into a concentrated powder. As a result, you need less per day.
What should you look for in a chaga supplement?
Check the Latin name (Inonotus obliquus), whether it contains fillers, and whether the brand can provide a CoA for each batch. For an extract, the percentage of beta-glucans tells you more than the extraction ratio alone.
