What is MCT oil C8?

MCT stands for medium chain triglycerides: fats with medium-length fatty acid chains. They occur naturally in coconut oil and palm kernel oil. Coconut oil contains several MCTs, such as C8, C10 and C12. The number stands for the number of carbon atoms in the fatty acid chain. For our oil, only the C8 fatty acid, caprylic acid, has been extracted from the coconut oil. Many MCT oils are a mix of C8 and C10, so check the label to see what is in it.
